OUR FOUNDER & OWNERS
Dean Curfman, his wife, Lynn, and Henry (the shop GSD) are the driving forces behind Oak Hill Iron + Wood.
Dean, a master blacksmith by trade, has evolved into a renowned sculptor and furniture designer, bringing a wealth of expertise and artistry to every project. His ability to transform raw materials into stunning, functional pieces is unmatched.
Lynn, a talented designer, complements Dean's craftsmanship with her keen eye for aesthetics and her ability to blend form with function seamlessly. Together, they create a harmonious balance that elevates the client experience, ensuring that each project is both beautiful and practical, tailored perfectly to your space and style.
OUR TEAM
Founded 1989 as Oak Hill Iron, we have served western North Carolina and beyond for over 30 years. As time progressed, the Oak Hill Iron + Wood crew's reputation grew as the region's highest quality and most creative provider of hand-forged items.
Over the years the company's sawmill and kilns grew as we became more well known for our ability to create beautiful live edge slab tables, countertops, and barn doors.
Today, our shop is comprised of a professional team of eight highly trained blacksmiths and woodworkers who continually create imaginative works of art in hand-forged steel and live-edge wood slabs.
